CHORÉGRAPHIE D'UN MONDE DISJOINT
Tudi Deligne
From 10 October to 23 November 2024
What is the role of the image when reality seems to be subject to ever-increasing deconstruction? How can we translate this chaos while at the same time offering a way out? These are just some of the questions that Tudi Deligne explores relentlessly in order to produce a drawing that is both a reflection of the present and a project looking towards another space-time.

Using charcoal, graphite or pastel, in colour or black and white, the Franco-Swiss artist telescopes techniques to multiply the possibilities. The initial sources of imagery are equally varied. Children's drawings, works by great masters such as Caravaggio or Rubens, cave paintings, comic strips, popular illustrations: a maelstrom of forms is propelled into a single image. In the final drawing, it's not easy to distinguish these initial impulses, which stand out more or less visibly. Bodies do, however, almost always emerge from the composition, becoming embodied from the outset. The return of the figure, however evanescent or allusive, is a reminder of the importance of the human in the work of Tudi Deligne, who also dances at a high level.
