Born in 1981, Roxane Gouguenheim is an artist who works and lives in Paris. After completing her doctoral studies in cinema, split between Paris and Tokyo, she obtained a degree in design where she specialised in technical experimentation and the creation of materials. Later she turned towards fine art related research in her studio. Her multidisciplinary work (painting, installations, video, digital work, experimentational music and performance art) is influenced by philosophy, the avant-garde (musical and cinematographic…) and spirituality which in turn forms the main pillars of her artistic exploration. Through her work, she delves into concepts of archaism and image deconstruction questioning the boundaries of interfaces, media discontinuity and technical imperfection.
